Introducing Tina, our Client Design Adviser
The Council wants “to create fit for purpose 21st century schools through a self-funding programme that will renew the borough’s primary school estate”. Our school board of governors is working with the Council to explore ways of improving our school as part of the programme.
No decisions have been taken and there are lots of opportunities to get involved in the process of exploring ideas and designs for a new school. To support this the council has funded an independent Client Design Adviser who will help us understand the design process and get the best out of the architects.
Our Client Design Adviser is Tina Frost.
“I’m Tina and I’ll be helping the school to think about and express what they’d like to see in a new school building.
My role will help the architects to appreciate the unique character of the school and enable any proposed design to respond to specific local needs. I’ll be working to ensure that the school’s vision is clearly set out and included in the design process.
I’ll be doing the following:
– Meeting with school staff, governors, pupils and parents/guardians
– Arranging visits to see other new schools
– Capturing the views of neighbours and other members of the local community who use the school’s facilities
– Producing a design brief for the Lead Architect who will begin their work in September 2019.
My work starts now and will continue until at least Christmas 2019.”
Look out for my updates in the school bulletin where we’ll have regular updates and details of how you can be involved in this design process.
